Dr. James J. DiResta, DPM, MPH

DiResta is a graduate of Boston College, he received his Doctorate in
Podiatric Medicine from the Temple University School of Podiatric
Medicine, and he completed his residency training in podiatric surgery
at Northlake Hospital in Illinois. Dr. DiResta received a Masters Degree
in Public Health from Dartmouth Medical School. He is board certified
by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of
the
American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He serves as Chair of the
Podiatric Health section of the American Public Health Association. He
is the current Chair of the Public Health Committee of the
Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society where he serves
as a Board of Trustee member and has been an officer and vice
president of the society. He is also a member of the Public Health and
Preventative Medicine Committee of the American Podiatric Medical
Association. He is President of the Community Service Foundation of
MPMS which developed and administers the Massachusetts Diabetes
Education Coalition Program.          

Dr. DiResta is on the Active Medical Staff of the Surgical Service of the
Anna Jaques Hospital having served on the medical staff bylaws
committee. He is also a corporator of the AJH parent organization
Seacoast Regional Health Systems. Dr. DiResta is on the Board of
Directors of the Whittier IPA and serves on the usage and policy
committees of Wellport, an electronic health information network.
He is a board member of the LMV Physician Hospital Organization
affiliated with Beth Isreal Deaconess Care Organization. He  
is also a medical staff member of The Merrimack Valley Hospital, a
division of Steward Healthcare Systems.

His research work involves quality improvement projects, patient
education and screenings as well as initiatives to change provider
practice behavior. He is the mentor for the APMA sponsored Post Doc
Podiatric Public Health Fellowship at The Dartmouth Institute of
Dartmouth College. He is the recipient of the John and Janet Carson
Award presented to him at the National APHA meeting and chairs the
fall business meeting in 2015.

Dr. Angela M. Barnes, DPM

Dr. Barnes is an associate podiatrist at Dr. DiResta and Associates
Podiatry.  She graduated from Kent State University School of Ohio
Podiatric Medicine located in Independence, OH in 2008.  Dr. Barnes
served as a delegate for the student chapter of the American
Association for Women Podiatrists and was also a student tutor for
anatomy and pathology.  She was a recipient of the prestigious North
Central Academy Scholarship in 2004-2005.

Prior to podiatry school, she studied biology at Purdue University in
Indianapolis, Indiana.  She was very involved in academia during her
undergraduate education; she served as a teaching assistant for the
chemistry department and assisted in ongoing research at the IU
department of periodontics.

Dr. Barnes arrived in New England after finishing three years of
residency in podiatric medicine and surgery; she was pleased to serve
veterans the last two years of her residency at the Hunter Holmes
McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. Dr.
Barnes held the responsibilities of Chief resident while she received
extensive training in diabetic limb salvage, wound care, and surgical
training in forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction.  Dr. Barnes is board
qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is an
Associate member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Barnes enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and two
children. She stays physically active with Pilates and cross country
snow skiing. She loves jazz music and has played both the piano and
tenor saxophone since she was a child.  Dr. Barnes looks forward to
becoming a part of the community and a life long resident of the North
Shore area.
